1. Every student admitted to Bethany College of Nursing is expected to follow the rules and regulations as framed by the College and the university from time to time.
2. Students are expected to read the notices put up on the notice board of the college. The college shall not accept any responsibility for loss due to the student’s failure to read the notice in time.
3. Loitering around the corridors during classes and attending other classes are not allowed.
4. No money should be collected for any activities like trip, picnic, educational tour, get-together, charity or any other activity, without the

prior sanction of the principal.
Every student should keep the identity card provided by the college.
6. Student must use the prescribed uniform on all working days.
7. Students are encouraged to wear simple and moderate dress suitable for an academic environment.
8. Students must develop a sense of belongingness that inspires them to take care of the college property and keep the college premises neat and tidy. Damage to any property of the college is a punishable offence.
9. College administration is very strict on irresponsible mannerisms like leaving books, valuables and other belongings in the classrooms, laboratory, library, dining hall or in any other commonplace. College is not responsible for any loss of such property.
10. In the opinion of the Principal, if for any reason, the continuation of students in the college is harmful to the wellbeing of the college, the Principal may ask such a student to leave the college without giving reasons of his/her dismissal.
11. Students shall be answerable for bringing any friends/colleagues/relatives etc. to the college during regular classes, functions etc. without the permission of the concerned authorities.
12. Railway concessions and other concession forms, required for students will be issued after receiving the filled in application form.
13. Besides the curricular activities, the students are expected to participate in all extra curricular activities such as sports, cultural programmes, /academic activities and field studies arranged by the College.
14. All the students are expected to participate in the student activities and in the professional activities. Christian students are encouraged to attend the Holy Mass and prayers daily. Counseling / guidance is given to the students to grow spiritually.
15. Phone calls (incoming and outgoing) for students are not allowed except on allowed day and time and during emergencies.

a. Disciplinary Measures on Serious Offence
  Any act of the students that affects the administration and discipline of the College internally as well as externally will invite serious disciplinary measures according to the offence committed. When a student is found violating the rules inside or outside the college or persistent idleness or misconduct, the principal/ director shall take action according to the nature and gravity of the offence; namely:
1. Suspend such a student from attending classes for not more than a week at a time or; expel such a student from the college or; disqualify such a student from taking examination, or any other disciplinary action deemed appropriate by the college authority.
2. The College authority shall give the student concerned, an opportunity for personal hearing and record the reasons of punishment in writing before the punishment is exercised.
3. Authorities are not responsible for any attempt of students that threaten their own lives. The College Authority has the power to suspend a student temporarily from the college pending enquiry into his/her conduct in connection with any alleged offence. During this period when the student remains suspended for the completion of enquiry shall be reckoned keeping the calculation of his/her attendance for appearing in an examination provided he/she is found innocent. A student, who has been expelled, shall not be admitted to another institution within the jurisdiction of the University. Ordinarily the period of expulsion shall not exceed two years. Other Universities shall be informed of the fact of the rustication. The expulsion of a student from the institution shall demand the removal of her name from the register of enrolled students.
4. Students are not expected to communicate any written or oral information on college academics or administration to the Press, public information, media or to any outsiders.
5. Participation in agitation, political activities, unhealthy propaganda or any such activity prejudicial to the interest of the institute or otherwise is strictly prohibited and will attract disciplinary action.
6. Ragging of any type is strictly prohibited and students with criminal record are not eligible for admission. Misbehavior and misrepresentation can lead to dismissal of the student without any further consideration. Defaulters will be strictly dealt with as per Government instructions and orders of Supreme Court & Human Rights Commission.
7. It is strictly banned to possess, carry or consume items like pan parag, cigarette & alcohol, drugs etc.
8. Possessing or use of mobile phones, pagers, radios, walk man etc are strictly forbidden in the hostel, hospital and college campus. Students found guilty of carrying the above mentioned equipments will be punished. (a fine of Rs. 250/- each time
9. The Principal and the Management reserve the right to remove the name of the student from the rolls if he/she fails to pay the college/hostel due in time.
10. In case of any dispute, decision of the college authority will be final and legal action will be taken.
11. The Management reserves the right to change any rule or provision given in this prospectus.
